How Do I Get a Library Card from the
Martinsburg-Berkeley County Public Libraries
All people requesting a library card must provide a photo ID and their current address that confirms residency in the state of West Virginia. In addition, they must also provide contact information, (full name and telephone number) for an emergency contact, who does not have the same phone number.
Birth dates are requested but not required except for those 17 and under.
For those age 18 and older:

Patrons must have photo ID with current address

If the photo ID does not have the current address, then proof of current address must be provided, along with the photo ID

Proof of address can be, but is not limited to, rental agreements, utility bills, etc.
For those age 1 to 17: A parent* must be present and must sign the card. --Parent must show photo ID with current address. --If the photo ID does not have the current address, then proof of current address must be provided, along with the photo ID. --Proof of address can be, but is not limited to, rental agreements, utility bills, etc.
*Parent means custodial parent or legal guardian.
